After 16 hours on the plane and in airports, I arrived at Warsaw. Beautiful day, near 30 and clear skies. We visited the ProEm HQ and then off to the Old City of Warsaw.
Learning the history of Poland, the Ghetto Uprising, the move to free market economy and German Invasion were all filled with questions. Yet it all lends to understanding Poland as a step child in the EU.
We ate at a traditional restaurant and Jola made me eat “Lard.” Yes, I ate it and it wasn’t all that bad. Great bread.
Stayed with Maui and Ewa. Their condo is a model home for IKEA. Beautifully and tastefully decorated. They were gracious host and allowed me to watch the Olympics. Poland did finish the highest ever in Team Ski Jumping!
This morning I traveled to ProEm’s Camp and met with the staff. They asked many questions about Shoal Creek. Jola tried to speak she only cried. We spent the morning talking about ProEm’s ministry then ate lunch. The camp has cooks and they made us soup (good soup), some dumplings and maybe a pork with gravy. All very good.
I am staying with John and Jaba tonight and will hang at the Toma Center tomorrow. I think Thursday we are going to Krakow to meet with a church planter there. I still have jet lag. I am sitting here at 4:10 pm (9:06 CST) falling asleep as I type this email.
